Great location! Tuns of restaurant options and entertainment in the area and its 3 minutes from the closest metro! My favorite are the monthly resident events. Last but not least Avalon at Gallery Place has an amazing team of dedicated and caring individuals from the front desk & leasing office all the way to maintenance. Im happy to have gotten the chance to be apart of this community.

Below is my original 5 star review. I was left with no choice but to change this to a 1 star review due to complications following move-out. Everything I stated in my original review remains true and this review does not reflect on the building staff- this is a reflection of the AvalonBay company. Following move-out, my roommate and I waited over a month to receive what we thought would be our deposit back. Instead we were sent a bill. Not only did Avalon charge our entire security deposit they also stated we owed them money to cover cleaning fees and damages. Of course, we refuted. They took over a month to “investigate” and returned to us letting us know our fine still stands. However, they didn’t even have the decency to let us know by when it needed to be paid, and the customer care line hasn’t taken mine or my roommate’s calls in days. Yet, Avalon is threatening that if we don’t pay soon they will send it to collections. This issue is still in active dispute so hopefully we can pay what we were WRONGFULLY fined and move on without further issue, but I would never recommend renting at an AvalonBay property given this experience. —————————————————————— I loved living at Avalon for the last 8 months. The building is lovely, my apartment is stunning, and the location is amazing. I feel lucky and blessed to have found this place and to have called it home. Most importantly, I don't think I could possibly ask for a better, kinder, more attentive staff. Ayanna has quickly become one of my favorite people to chat with in the whole world. She was always so kind to me and made Avalon feel like a home. In my first few months, Cheyenne was such a great staff member to talk to too before she moved locations. Tierra is always helpful and kind. I have been so grateful to have all three of them at the building during my time here. Honestly, I simply don't have time to mention every incredible staff member by name from maintenance workers to the leasing staff they have all been so kind and amazing. P.S. The rooftop is incredible (amazing view and so clean and well kept)

I usually don't write negative reviews, but I can't emphasize enough how disappointed I am with Avalon at Gallery Place Apartments. The complete lack of competence in maintenance and the abysmal management is exceptionally frustrating. When I first moved into Avalon at Gallery Place Apartments, I was welcomed by a non-functional AC unit. It turned out that the capacitor was broken, and to make matters worse, I learned that the compressor for my apartment was located in a different unit. This revelation meant that getting the AC fixed promptly was an exercise in futility if you were unlucky enough not to live in the apartment with the compressor. The capacitor was fixed on July 18th, and my electricity bill that month skyrocketed because the AC was constantly drawing power, yet failing to provide any cooling relief. I am posting a picture as proof to this. After the capacitor was replaced, the AC failed to provide enough power to cool the apartment. Only the front of the apartment, i.e., the Kitchen and Bathroom, were colder, but you would literally sweat in the living room and bedroom. It was a nightmare to sleep in the apartment with windows open and two fans blowing at me at all times in July and August. It's a perfect example of the absurdity that one has to endure in this complex, where seemingly simple maintenance issues are turned into protracted nightmares. The A/C still does not work to this day. Between Xfinity is your only option for internet and is billed on your rent. You get no other choice. It has gone down numerous times for me at least. I have wasted hours trying to exchange the router and modems. To make matters even worse, when I moved in, I was also greeted with leaks under both the kitchen and bathroom sinks. It's astonishing that these basic maintenance issues were not addressed before I moved in. It's indicative of the careless and neglectful attitude that seems to permeate this establishment. The paint job on the walls is sloppy. There are paint marks and droppings on the floor that you cant wash out. The management here is a joke. I complained to them on multiple occasions, but they have failed to take any action. They are consistently unresponsive, unprofessional, and seem to have no interest in addressing residents' concerns. It's incredibly disheartening. Furthermore, it's been a never-ending struggle to get any repairs or maintenance done promptly. It seems like they take pride in ignoring maintenance requests until they become critical. They are simply unresponsive on the resident app. My experience has left me feeling undervalued as a tenant. I moved here because it is quite honestly a great location(thats changing now as well with increased crime in the Chinatown. The businesses are actually closing. You can Google), but between the terrible maintenance, lackluster management, the internet, the plumbing and the AC debacles that left me sweating, frustrated, and with a hefty utility bill, Avalon at Gallery Place Apartments is, without a doubt, the last place you'd want to call home. I am also filing an official complaint with the Office of Tenant Advocate along with this review.

Terrance the lead technician was so great he came to fix a another situation but was so helpful and informative. When asked to help fix some other issues that we have been meaning to schedule a appointment for he handled the situation quickly and professionally. It is so good to encounter somone the projects quality customer service.

Excellent maintenance services! Ishmeal was very helpful, swiftly replacing both my microwave and stove knob. Fast and efficient! I couldn't be more satisfied with the outcome!

Avalon is a great place to live. The digital access system is highly convenient and feels secure, there are numerous services and amenities available, and the staff are fantastic. Special shoutouts to Donisha Brown, who was very helpful in obtaining a lease, and Fahim Farzam, who does excellent maintenance work! And of course the concierge team, who have all been very pleasant.

Terence fixed my kitchen light and AC filter as soon as I requested it. The staff at Avalon work hard and are very kind!
